A better writing workflow
Check whether text reads like ChatGPT wrote it
ChatGPT and similar models tend to produce fluent, evenly paced text with predictable structure. The ChatGPT Detector sends your text to the same detection service as the AI Detector and returns an AI score from 0 to 100, a classification, and the sentences that read most like AI. Treat the report as one signal in a review, not as proof of who wrote something.
01
What the report shows
Every check returns the same parts, so you can compare drafts before and after editing.
An overall AI score from 0 to 100 for the text you checked.
A short verdict that sums up the score in words.
Highlighted sentences that drive the score, so you know where to look.
Where the service reports it, how many of the words read as AI.
02
Patterns common in ChatGPT drafts
These are not proof on their own, but they are worth a closer look when they cluster together.
Openings that restate the question before answering it.
Balanced “on one hand / on the other hand” structure on every topic.
Uniform paragraph length and neat three-item lists.
Confident general claims without sources, numbers or names.
Stock transitions such as “Moreover”, “Furthermore” and “In conclusion”.
03
How to run a useful check
Detection is more reliable with enough text and context.
Check a full section or document rather than one or two sentences.
Keep the original formatting; do not merge separate paragraphs.
Upload a TXT, DOC or DOCX file up to 10 MiB instead of copying page by page.
If you revise, check the full text again rather than single lines.
04
Why a result can be wrong
Every AI detector, this one included, produces false positives and false negatives. Scores tend to be less reliable when the text is short, formulaic (lab reports, legal or technical writing), written by someone writing in a second language, or heavily edited by people and tools. A low score does not prove a person wrote the text either.
05
For teachers and reviewers
A high score is a reason to talk, not a verdict. Combine the report with drafts, version history, the writer’s earlier work and a conversation about how the piece was written. Check your institution’s policy before acting on any detector result.
06
For writers checking their own work
If your own writing is flagged, the highlighted sentences usually share the patterns above. Add specific examples and sources, vary sentence length and replace generic transitions. The AI Humanizer and AI Refine can help with flow, but your own detail matters most.

ChatGPT Detector FAQ
Can it tell whether ChatGPT specifically wrote the text?
No detector can reliably name the exact model. The report estimates how AI-like the writing is; ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other models share many patterns.
Does it work on text from newer ChatGPT versions?
It looks for AI-like patterns rather than a fingerprint of one model version, so it can flag text from newer models too. No detector can promise full coverage of every model or every editing style, so read the highlighted sentences rather than relying on the number alone.
Is the ChatGPT Detector different from the AI Detector?
Both use the same detection service and report. This page focuses on patterns typical of ChatGPT drafts and how to interpret them.
How accurate is it?
Accuracy depends on text length, topic, language and editing. Short or heavily edited text is harder to judge. Never use a single score as the only evidence of misconduct.
How many words does a check use?
AI detection uses half of the input word count, rounded up. Signed-out visitors can start with a free trial of 500 words, no sign-up needed; after that, checks use your plan allowance.
Is my text stored or shared?
Text is sent to the detection provider to produce the report. Saved history is private to your account; see the privacy policy for details.

Paste at least a few paragraphs so the report has enough context, then review the highlighted sentences.
