Inside the extension

A few settings.
A rhythm of your own.

Spend less time entering a finished draft. Keep the small controls that make a long typing session easier to manage.

01 /

A little variation. A little breathing room.

Let the speed vary within your settings, with a pause at punctuation and a longer beat between paragraphs.

02 /

A wrong key. A quick correction.

Optional English typos are backspaced and corrected. Short text replays retype your original words.

03 /

Find a pace that feels comfortable.

Choose the speed, then tune pauses and corrections. Turn those options off whenever you prefer a simpler session.

04 /

Take a break without losing your place.

Pause, continue or stop from the extension. Saved checkpoints help you check where to resume after an interruption.

05 /

Keep your document open. Keep going.

Enable background typing to use another tab while the document stays open. Manual edits can pause the session.

06 /

Pick up from the words already there.

Google Docs matching compares existing text with your draft and recommends a starting point, with an option to restart.

Before your first session

A few things worth knowing.

What is an auto typer?

An auto typer enters prepared text one character at a time. RewriteMax AutoType is a Chrome extension for Google Docs and Word Online, with adjustable speed, pause and resume, and optional typing corrections.

How do I add AutoType to Chrome?

AutoType is not yet published on the Chrome Web Store. Once it is released, Add to Chrome on this page will open the official listing. Public installation is not available yet.

Does it work with Google Docs and Word Online?

Yes, in editable Google Docs and Word Online documents in desktop Chrome. Open the document and place the cursor in its body before starting the extension. Mobile browsers are not supported.

Can I adjust the typing speed?

Yes. Set the speed in the extension and choose speed variation, punctuation pauses and paragraph pauses. You can also adjust or turn off optional typo corrections and short text replays.

Will corrections change my final text?

Optional English typos are briefly typed, deleted with backspace and corrected. Short text replays delete and retype the original passage. The aim is to preserve your supplied text; review the document when the session finishes.

Can I continue after refreshing or closing a tab?

With saved checkpoints enabled, your draft and progress remain in your browser. Google Docs matching can compare existing text and recommend where to continue, with an option to restart. Review the cursor and document state before resuming.

Can it keep typing while I use another tab?

Enable background typing to continue when switching tabs. Keep the target document open. Manual edits, a document switch or a lost connection can pause the session so you can check it before continuing.

Do I need a separate account or paid plan?

Use your existing RewriteMax account. Typing requires active paid membership and a separate allowance. The launch policy is 20,000 units per UTC month with no rollover. Verified new referrals award 1,000 permanent units to each person; inviter rewards are capped at 10,000 per UTC month.

Does typing use my rewriting credits?

No. Typing is counted separately: English words and Han characters are units. Continuing the same task and replaying corrections do not create duplicate charges. Unused reserved units are released when a task stops or expires.

Why does Google Docs ask for authorization?

Checking existing Google Docs content needs a separate Google documents read-only authorization. It is independent of your RewriteMax login. Your input draft and checkpoints stay in your browser; account and allowance endpoints do not receive document text.

Does AutoType rewrite or generate my draft?

AutoType enters text you have already prepared. To change the wording first, use the RewriteMax Humanizer or another writing tool, review the result, then give the approved text to AutoType.
